Dunbar Tower Public Art Procurement
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Status: In Progress Client: Ann Arbor Housing Commission
The Ann Arbor Housing Commission, representing its non-profit organization, the Ann Arbor Housing Development Corporation, along with the Community Leadership Council, engaged InToto Studio to create a process for procuring and implementing local artists to provide murals for the newly constructed Dunbar Tower affordable housing facility. The development includes housing for low-income artists located at 121 Catherine, Ann Arbor, Michigan. The selection process was designed to showcase a diverse range of local voices that reflect the historically Black neighborhood - Ann Arbor’s West Side. The selected artists produced a range of artworks, including public murals, commemorative plaques, and building signage. InToto's responsibilities included developing the outreach and selection process, community engagement, and managing.
