KIPP Detroit Imani Academy is a K-12 school designed to serve 950 students. The linear building organization creates distinct entries for elementary and middle school students, activates Longacre Avenue with a pedestrian streetscape, and establishes a threshold between the residential fabric of the Gardenview neighborhood and a west-facing bio-retention landscape, where outdoor classrooms, play areas, and nature-based learning spaces enrich the student experience. Classrooms are arranged into three-grade clusters, which share flexible breakout zones for informal collaboration and study. The campus masterplan includes parking, pick-up and drop-off areas, and future expansion to include a gymnasium and high school facilities.
